Review of Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore (1974) by Sean C — 04 Feb 2012
Pretty spot on study of gender roles in the 1970s. That is, until the characters shift into unjustified angry territory near the second act break, and I'm completely lost. Perhaps it's because of how undefined Kristofferson's character is.
He tilts from likeable to possessive within two scenes, and we're not really shown psychological reasons why. Other than that, I found this another brilliant take on the "woman liberated from her conventional identity" tale.
