Review of Ali (2012) by Jeff W — 23 Jan 2011

Watched for the first time since seeing in in theatres years ago. I remember liking it, but upon a fresh viewing really loved it. I have always enjoyed boxing films, especially when they are not about the boxing but more the life of the boxer.

Will Smith really proved his acting chops with this role, and although the physical resemblance is not quite there, and it's hard to not see Smith on screen the whole time. It's the performance of Ali that he nails, the body movements and dialogue is amazing.

Same with Jon voight who was equally brilliant.
