The direction could have done much better. The movie drags and desperately needed to make cuts to make it more effective. John Voight and Will Smith were both great but I felt like 30 minutes could have easily been taken out.
It fails to capture who Ali really was, we do not or dive into and his mind or thoughts. We do not get to understand his personality and charisma that made him a legend. The emotional impact just is not there, the plot is just not there and it is not Will Smithâ(TM)s fault.
