Review of Ali (2001) by Mike P — 27 Oct 2009
Exceptional Biopic with full on Michael Mann style. Smith delivered his best performance of his career with Ali. Ron Silver is totaly unrecognizable as Angelo Dundee. As is Levar Burton as Martin Luther King.
I really approached this with alot of hesitation because Biopics can tend to glamorize and be totaly melodramatic. And thats not to say that Ali isnt consisting of either, its just not in your face. It felt pretty true and valid.
The fights looked great and who ever the guy is that played George Foreman is identical to the real man! Seriously good entertainment here.
