Review of Ali (2001) by Andrew D — 18 Feb 2012
I commend Will Smith's performance and his dedication to making this role come alive. When I heard his accent I then realized how much work and dedication he must have put into this role.
I was inspired by the press scene outside the courtroom when he took a stand for what he believed in. Felt a lot more of those same feelings during his last line right before the end of the movie ... I kept replaying it.
The story as a whole, not necessarily "the greatest story ever, oh my gosh you have to see it!" kind of feeling, but it gets the point across nonetheless. I get how Michael Mann thinks a little bit more now.
Maybe I'll go re-watch Public Enemies now, yet, I'll still say I liked this movie a lot better. Not to put the other down in anyway. Both are great movies that all adults should see and can take something away from the experience.
