Review of Alfie (2013) by Braden J — 16 Jul 2009
What is remarkable about this film is its depiction of Alfie as a victimizer and then, in the latter part of the film, as a victim, effectively creating a sense of cause and effect that seems a sort of payback for Alfie's careless lifestyle in the beginning of the picture.
The ending is unexpected and rather beautiful, and is exactly how the story of Alfie should end. Overall, the film is stylish and sexy, shot brilliantly, and acted even better. Law is perfect, devastatingly handsome, and almost holds the entire film in his pocket.
Sienna Miller's last scene is breathtaking, and Susan Sarandon is impeccable.
