Review of Alexander's Ragtime Band (1938) by Ecuador Gay T — 15 Feb 2010
Okay musical from the 30s about a guy (soon to be called Alexander) who forms a ragtime band. Not too bad, the first half is pretty good, but then it drags on for a while. I did enjoy the finale though, even though it was pretty predictable.
Tyrone Power, Alice Faye, and Don Ameche make a nice trio (it was fun seeing a young Ameche act and sing). Some good songs throughout, but I felt the film could have been shorter.
