It works well because though it's exceedingly clichà (C) and you know the moral moment happen, the ride is so fun and rewarding, and the laughs you get are fully worked towards. It will win no awards, it will not earn a lot of money, and bella Thorne is drop dead gorgeous.
It's a hilarious family film that is a near masterpiece.
