Review of Alexander (1996) by Anthony M — 12 Jun 2009
Well Oliver Stone has created a film unlike anything he has ever created. A boring one. Not everyone of his films is great but they always have something going on in them. This is a very uneven mess that should have been something so much more.
I mean Alexander The Great is a very interesting historical figure and deserved a much better film. There are a lot of plot developements that don't really lead anywhere and the acting ability here leaves something to be desired.
Having said all this though, this is a very well made film and you can tell that Oliver's heart was in the right place. Check out another Stone movie. There certainly are a lot to choose from.
