I'm a fan of the James Patterson novels, and had a lot of anticipation for this movie--but after I heard bad reviews on it, I decided to wait and and spend $.90 (after a promo coupon) on the blu-ray rental at the Redbox.
Tyler Perry wasn't that bad--and Matthew Fox puts in a pretty horrifying performance as a mad serial killer (although he only commits in essence ONE crime before giving him this characterization), but the picture itself suffers greatly from being a movie looking for a story to tell.
Which is strange, considering there were 19 books of material to choose from (and at James Patterson's pacing and twists, probably more like 70+ plots to work into a screenplay).
