Review of Alex Cross (2012) by Keegan B — 06 Jul 2013
Alex Cross was abysmal. Everything about this film was weak, the plot, acting and direction.
The acting was awful from most of the cast including Tyler Perry but what do you expect from a man that stars in the terrible madea films. When the main stars acting is bad the rest of the film crumbles. Matthew Fox pulled off psychotic very well and his acting was ok. For me Matthew Fox was the best part of this film and that is not saying much. The only other okay performance was from Giancarlo Esposito who was in it for not even 5 minutes.
The direction was sloppy and all over the place. Throughout scenes Cohen relied to heavily on shaky cam and that resulted in scenes that were unwatchable. This film was unfortunately doomed when he signed on to direct because even though The fast and the furious spawned a franchise he also made the franchise killing The mummy: Tomb of the dragon emperor.
