Review of Alex & Emma (2003) by Jacqueline M — 30 May 2008
I liked the part where Emma asks Alex what his last book was about. It's about "the story of a man who's frightened of commitment and yet so desperately in love with a woman he's afraid it might kill him. It's a comedy.".
-Sadly, I can relate. haha.
When he's asked what his new book is about, he says "it's about the powerlessness of being in love and how it devours the insides of a person like a deadly virus." Emma: "Another Comedy?" Alex: "yeah".
-Sadly, I can relate to that, too. I only wish I could have come up with those words.
In another part of the movie, Alex says he's "just a writer. I don't know what to do to show you how much I love you. I only have words. That's all I have.".
-This is the best part of the movie, I think. Yah, I know it's a little mushy, but if I could have someone feel that way about me...and if I could reciprocate it because THAT is key, I'd be the happiest person in the whole wide world!
