It has been so long since I can recall seeing Ms. Close portray someone gentle. I completely admire her portrayal of Mr. Nobbs as an inhibited individual struggling, bolstered by hope and ambition, to bloom.
My favorite scene was between Albert and Hubert as they walked along a beach, neither able to pass as women. This movie was a lovely contemplation on the juxtaposition of one's interior nature and exterior limitations.
