I had a hard time with Albert Nobbs. There is no doubting that Glenn Close gives a magnificent performance, and the performances from Masikowska, McTeer, and Johnson round out an impressive outing (Gleeson is not all that noticeable).
But the flashes of brilliance are quickly shot down by mundane moments of nothingness.
