Review of Aladdin and the King of Thieves (1996) by Wendy N — 30 Dec 2007
The plot is really dumb from the start, we see Aladdin and Jasmine preparing to get married... didn't they get married in the first movie?
But wait, this is one of Disney's "money making sequals", so of course you could just forget what happened in the first movie...
The animation and songs are of poor quality, if you compare Carpet from the first movie to this, this carpet looks like it's been washed one to many times, it also looks stiff and lifeless... the few times you actually saw it.
The songs felt repeated from the first movie, "A happy day in Agrabah" (or whatever it was called) sounds like a mix between "Prince Ali" and "One jump ahead".
And the song Jasmine and Aladdin sung felt so cheap, it was just a whiner song instead of a romantic one.
Honestly this movie is utterly boring, I hated the plot.
Genie is over-used to the point where he becomes annoying, he says a punch-line in every single sentence he uses, and it got old really quick.
