Review of Aladdin (1992) by Mloy X — 03 Mar 2012
A good test for a film's longevity is if it's as entertaining and as interesting as when you first saw it eight years ago. Although the jokes and some of Genie's impressions seem a little dated now, the humor transcends time.
For its time, Aladdin was animated beautifully; one of the great examples of early CG use in animation. The voice-actors, needless to say, were all very talented, but it as great as they all were, it was difficult to top Robin William's performance as Genie, which contributed to much of the film's fun and enjoyability.
Aladdin is almost as good a Disney flick as the Little Mermaid....... almost.
