Review of Akira (1988) by Yosef W — 23 Nov 2012
A very dark sci fi story that starts out as a shiny techno punk romp, yet soon delves down to become an exceedingly dark tale about the abuse of God power in man's grasp. The imagery is stunning for its time.
The haunting industrial vibes give out shivers and, at times, feel almost otherworldly. The score, much like the story, is diverse and bizarre.
