Review of Akira (1988) by Steve W — 12 May 2014
Akira is a considered a classic anime, a cyberpunk masterpiece. I think that the animation is really good, but this movie is a bit overrated. The movie is terribly slow n the first half, and gets incredibly visceral and gory in the ending half.
It is a favourable cult film, but its not one of my favourites.
