Review of Akira (1988) by Joe C — 20 May 2015
Great visuals, poor character development, poor audio, poor story. Akira benefits from an overblown reputation, which in itself is understandable considering it's a landmark feat in terms of anime visuals.
It fails to captivate, though, where other anime movies or series, like Neon Genesis Evangelion, succeeded because of their better plots and organic storytelling.
