Totally a feel good flick. Originally I thought it was a true story which would have made some of the unlikely turns in the plot more tolerable. But you just can't resist Keke Palmer as Akeelah and, at the end of the day, she and Laurence Fishburne deliver a nice little dose of tenderness and hope.
