Review of Akeelah and the Bee (2006) by Essi P — 12 Apr 2011
Good movie with a great message. I think it's human nature to enjoy movies in which an average person with limited opportunities succeeds (The Pursuit of Happyness is another example of this). This was one of those movies.
The movie is quite predictable but it's the journey that counts here not the ending. Not watchable more than once, not a "must-see" either, just a good uplifting movie.
