-AKEELAH AND THE BEE - 4 stars-.

I never expected to like this movie so much. What a wonderful surprise! Keke Palmer is a diamond on the rough, an extremely talented young girl, who really makes us care and cheer for Akeelah. The movie gets into many issues, such as the difficulties someone from a minority, and from a poor neighborhood can face, the importance of community and caring for others, and of course believing in yourself and following your passion, no matter what that is. Through training with a wise and compassionate teacher and with the help of many others, Akeelah ultimately learns that the difference between merely being succesful and achieving greatness is spelled H-E-A-R-T.
