Review of a.k.a. Cassius Clay (1970) by Erik V — 17 Apr 2009
Lively discussion between muhammad ali and cus d'amato debating ali's contention that he could have whooped any of the heavy weigh champs that preceded him. Amazing archival footage accompanied that is more than enhanced by brilliant musical score by teo macero, a longtime collaborator with miles davis.
Lively and animated with strange and compelling narration. the narrator is often on camera sitting in a chair and speaking directly into the camera. The voice reminds me of high school movies about drunk driving.
clinical with strong, fear inducing adjectives. great touch.
