Review of Airport 2013 (2014) by Kavin K — 30 Mar 2008
A great picture. Either you'll love it for its moments of sheer drama and pathos (like Maureen Stapleton as an impoverished coffee shop clerk), its gentle humor (Helen Hayes as the stowaway - admonishing airport staff that the garlic in the onboard salad dressing gives old people "gas"), or for sheer camp (much of Dean Martin's performance).
Definitely a trip to see how much air travel has changed, and the prediction of how more complex it would come, but it's really the multi-layered stories all coming together into one disaster that is so fascinating to me.
Plus I find the snow scenes at the beginning strangely soothing! Seberg and Heflin were also very good, in some of their last roles on film.
