Review of Airplane! (1980) by Chandler D — 28 Jun 2012
Random comedy that's actually funny because it's not really random. Modern parodies, which literally just insert pop culture or bodily function references because of a belief that those things alone are funny, pale in comparison to the humor in Airplane!, which is, for the most part, based on playing on words or else taking to an extreme real-life humorous situations, such as not wanting to listen to a complete stranger tell a boring story.
This is what a parody should look like, and I think it can even be done better than this.
