With its perfectly ridiculous gags, spot-on comedic chops, and silly one-liners, Airplane! is a pioneer in the spoof comedy genre. While it many not appeal to some, it possesses the fantastically amusing attitude that will make others burst out laughing almost every minute.
Based on many repetitive cliches, it makes a very good use of them. Totally juvenile in its nature, with charming and likable characters, Airplane! will surely - and don't call me Shirley - be remembered as one of the funniest comedies of all times.
