Review of Airplane! (1980) by Dannielle A — 16 Feb 2013
This was amazing (minus the random WHAT THE FRIG boobs out of nowhere.) There were so many spoofs of popular movies, lots of site gags, witty and clever play on words, deadpan humor, and just plain delightful slapstick.
(I'm usually not a slapstick kind of gal, but I make an exception for this movie.) It was so funny! I loved the black men whose dialogue had to be subtitled and the little girl who made a fish face when her tube was accidently removed by a guitar.
Some of my favorite bits were scenes with Robert Stack who at the time was not yet the host of Unsolved Mysteries but I immediately associated him with the show and couldn't stop laughing to see him in this silly role when I knew him as a serious actor.
