Review of Airplane! (1980) by Baurushan J — 23 Dec 2013
From all the news that I've heard, this movie is definitely one of the best spoof movies that has ever hit cinema. The story is about Ted Striker who has a fear of flying but boards a jumbo jet anyway to woo back his girlfriend.
When some of the passengers and crew members are decimated with food poisoning, it is up to Striker to land the plane. The gags do get a laugh sometimes which I will give it that, Leslie Nielsen plays the doctor in the movie, it has all the 1980s cliches which I loved in this to bits and they pretty much satirize everything in the background without hammering in thinly written humour.
Overall, this movie is not just a good, funny parody but also an excellent thriller as well. Airplane! (1980) gets a solid 9.5/10.
