Airplane! remains one of my favorite comedies of all-time. The reason? For starters the gags are as funny now as they were back in the 80s. Secondly, the cast is hysterical. Everyone gives it their all.
In particular Peter Graves, Lloyd Bridges, Leslie Neilsen, and Robert Stack just slay me. I'm also happy to say that the Zucker brothers have their roots in Wisconsin. Their spoof movies are legendary.
Airplane! plays on the tropes of basically every airplane film up to that point and even beyond. This is truly a timeless classic!
