Review of Airplane! (1980) by Kieran F — 30 Aug 2011
Considering that it was rated as one of the top ten films(out of a hundred) best comedies ever...its rightfully so.
Its got ALOT of quick action gags from the man directing the airplane in the wrong direction to all the "Looks like it was a bad day for me to stop doing x" gags. the laughs never stop.
I always enjoy watching this film and love how it smartly spoofs the 'disaster' genre and also how every one acts SOO seriously but because they do its hilarious. I also like how the make fun of serious type things IE the main character has a drinking problem.Okay. hear this you think "he must drink too much alcohol" WRONG. he DOES have a drinking problem but his problem is..he cant make the drink hit his mouth and he always splashes the drink on his face. BRILLIANT.
The humor is top notch and the acting is classic. This is possibly a comedy that will ALWAYS be revered and loved and no matter how old you get(or how old the film gets) its still funny.
