Comedies come in many styles. Some of the great ones are renowned for their subtlety, for their social critique, or for their ingenious plotlines.
"Flying High", or "Airplane!" as it is known in the USA, is not one of those films. But, this godfather of modern day spoof films (some of which have become unrecognizable) cannot be beat by any film (save maybe one or two of the Monty Python features) on a pure laugh-per-minute basic.
Starring Robert Hays, Julie Hagerty and Leslie Nielsen, "Flying High" is highly silly, and highly quotable, making it an instant must-see for any comedy fan. Surely, no one could hate that? Well, they can't. And don't call me Shirley.
