Review of Air Guitar Nation (2006) by Kyle S — 14 Oct 2007
As far as documentary goes, it's kind of weak, it seems too fast, and didn't get me as pumped for air guitar as I hoped. but I don't want that to take away from the fact that A: there's a guy named Bjorn Turoque B: the Europeans treatment and reaction to the Americans is awesome and C: C-Diddy is very, very very likeable.
It's funny b/c the europeans take it so seriously. training camp? lessons on how to really interpret the music? is it REALLY the last perfect art form? REALLY?? and the end results, really show me two things: 1. to be the best at anything in the world is worth it. and 2. seriously, it's not the last perfect art form...
I think the best part about it is that the US doesn't take it so seriuosly, and still puts on a better show in the regional tournaments over the world championships.
But seriously, it's air guitar. oh, and thank God it got political, I was starting to worry there for a sec and think this was a movie about a tournament for miming to music!
