Review of Air Force One (1997) by Andrew G — 09 Oct 2009
I've got a friend who is a major lover of this film. I see why he likes it, and I have to say that although I enjoyed it, it's not perfect. It's got a fantastic story, and great performances all around.
The action scenes are great, and the suspense is excellent. It sort of reminded me of the classic Pelham One Two Three with the way the passengers are handled. My problem with the film was the portrayal at times of Harrison Ford's character of the President.
He seemed at times like Ford's previous characters. A lot of the times I saw two much Indiana Jones, at others Han Solo, and others Richard Kimble. Harrison Ford does a good job, but the way he goes straight to action hero was a bit too quick.
Still, Air Force One is extremely enjoyable and entertaining to watch.
