Harrison Ford is the President, but he's not JUST the President, he's a Gulf War hero, brave in the face of danger, even when his presidential jet is abducted by Russian terrorists.
It's all been done before and much better than this. The worst thing isn't the performances, the screenplay, direction or visual effects but Jerry Goldsmith's disgusting music score. Ugh!
