Air Force One is a lot of things. An action film, a thriller, a political drama, an escape film and a tale of vigilance. One thing it certainly is not is boring.

Air Force One has realism to it, because President James Marshall isn't an overly powerful one-man-army, but rather a basically determined U.S. president who knows what he's doing. He doesn't have any super abilities rather than the ability to operate a gun and a love for his country and family. Plus, the fact that he's the president makes him even cooler. Harrison Ford was perfect for the role and delivered the line "Get off my Plane!" with utter skill.

I also enjoyed the parts played by Glenn Close and William H. Macy.

The high point of the film is Gary Oldman. His role as a Russian terrorist was perfect. His Russian accent was so flawless that the fact that he isn't really Russian is surprising. He was excellent as a villain too, and he truly is a chameleon of acting.

The action was also good, and the thrilling atmosphere, visual effects, plot and dynamics were all enjoyable as well. Air Force One is good, simple and original.
