Casey Affleck, Rooney Mara, Ben Foster, and Keith Carradine put in top rate performances in what might be as far from a big Hollywood pic as possible while still being GREAT. This is a cinema tone poem or love poem.
It is a love letter to the 2:35:1 film aspect ratio. Cinematographer Bradford Young does a masterful job. There a few scenes of gun play with long slow rhythms and tensions between. This is not an A.D.
D.H.D. generation movie. Put on your grown-up pants, sit, wait, watch, and feel.
