It can be said that AI is one of Spielberg's finest works, at least emotionally. Those who compare it to Schindler's List or Amistad need to consider the scope of the emotion; it's not spread out over so many people like in those other two movies, instead all of the intense emotion is focused on a single, innocent point; the boy.
