Review of A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001) by Juan F — 10 Feb 2013
Just had a chance to revisit this epic melding of Spielberg and Kubrick. It's unquestionably flawed, but its virtues far outweigh its shortcomings, and Spielberg deserves much credit for creating something very unique that resonates harmoniously with the spirits of both film masters.
I was also reminded of three brilliant elements lost in the critical backlash when A.I. was released: the magical performances by Haley Joel Osment and Jude Law, and almost certainly the best score ever composed by John Williams.
