Review of A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001) by Matthew B — 07 Mar 2015
A.I. Artificial Intelligence does not deserved the hate, but it does deserve to have another look for everyone who do not understand the movie very well. I thought it is one of the most provoking films ever made.
Haley Joel Osment is dead on perfect for playing a robot named David. The rest of the cast were great, but Haley Joel Osment is the one that steals the show. The visuals have aged a bit when it first came out back in 2001, but they are fantastic and they hold up alright.
Tell you the truth, I never saw this movie before until I finally saw it when I recorded it on Turner Classic Movies. The music by John Williams is beautiful and may be one of his best. The story is very well told, and I understand the movie perfectly well what is going on.
The ending that everyone had is not that bad. I thought it was brilliant and it did made me cry. Steven Spielberg's direction is incredible, and he has done a heck of job to bring the late Stanley Kubrick's vision to life.
This movie is not only for fans that love Spielberg, but it is also for fans that love Kubrick. I love this movie, and it deserves another shot!
