Review of A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001) by Scott W — 23 Aug 2015
Great movie for its time, Came out when darker movies were more accepted but I remember the deep pitted feeling it gave me in my stomach to see such hate for the little boy and it still there today. Have to say its disgustingly accurate for its portrayal of how alot of kids are so mean and of the racism of american roots to quickly rule out a race or group as not human, just as blacks were quickly classified as subhuman the writers are honest about the dark american cultures and propaganda that still plague the country today through the demonization of blacks and anyone else that points at the clear privileges of certain groups.
For its creativity this film is amazing but for its darkness and uncannyness of the film. It doesn;t allow this film to survive today as a classic. There are too many other ways to have made this film hard hitting without some much negative and dark scenes.
Although this may be debatable amongst critics. Watch with a tough stomach aned maybe even use the fast forward button. Interesting film hopefully it will make humanity think about how it acts to other groups, if you disagree you are part of the problem groups shouldnt have to have hashtags stating their lives matter disguisting.
