Review of A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001) by Avant G — 02 Jul 2012
Another great Steven Spielberg film, A.I. is a great sci-fi with a few flaws. The acting is great, Haley Joe Osment is fantastic as the innocent robo kid who wants to be real, which is baffling why he hasn't been in any more movies since.
The story is fascinating for the most part, with the sentimental touch that Steven is known for. The visuals are also fantastic, each beautiful grainy pixel adding up to a fascinating futuristic world.
It also raises some important questions, which is always good. But if I had made this movie, I would have ended it as Haley is staring endlessly at the blue fairy. It would have been a great ending, making it a wonderful package, but instead they went all crazy.
Not to spoil anything, but its a really bad ending and its just plain dumb. Overall, a great movie though.
