Review of Aguner Poroshmoni (1995) by Fariha H — 27 Jul 2007
The movie is about a middle class family living in Dhaka during the Liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971. They carry on a quiet life shielded from the war and politics, silently making plans for the day the country becomes free when a freedom fighter takes refuge with them.
It's a really good movie and says a lot without stating too much. One of Humayun Ahmed's better works.
