Review of Aguirre, the Wrath of God (1972) by David R — 04 Aug 2008
A great tragedy about the timeless and universal themes of madness and greed. Suffers from poor production values, but a third of the film's already meager budget was used to pay Klaus Kinski.
The photography and pace greatly help create the sense of the characters' descent into madness in the steamy jungles of South America.
