Review of Aguirre, the Wrath of God (1972) by Eunji K — 28 Nov 2007
The most unforgettable and beautiful openning scene and definitely the most metarphoric ending scene which echoes throughout the whole film while it progresses. Searching for something which doesn't even exist from the first place throws me to think about grand questions.
Kinski at his very best, Herzog at his usual best. Somehow painful to watch because you have to face it, not to turn away.
