This is one of those few films that I think I will always remember. Even if I might not remember everything exactly, I will definitely remember a few things. Mostly the eerie and otherwordly music, the haunting scenery and the unadulterated hatred of the title character's eyes.

Klaus Kinski gives a magnificent performance. There is something unnerving about Aguirre the whole way through the movie. Maybe it was the way he walked or how he twisted his neck or his voice or all of those things, but he truly is a terrifying character.

The one thing I like about Werner Herzog that few directors have nowadays is his preference of setting a mood and having the viewer feel a part of it rather than just telling a flashy story. His movies are raw and I like it.

Herzog's use of music is also a really important part of the movie. This kind of movie is not for everyone, but if you watch it, I'm sure you will take something away from it.
