Review of Aguirre, the Wrath of God (1972) by Adam R — 03 Apr 2010
As famous for its off-camera tension between star and director, Aguirre stands in its own right as mandatory viewing. Spanish conquistadors arrive toting their bulky weapons and wares through the harsh Amazon environment.
Despite their differences, Kinski gives an exceptional performance and Herzog proves to be an expert craftsman. Thoroughly compelling with a great ending.
