Aguirre, The Wrath of God.
(In Spanish with English subtitles).
DRAMA.
A realistic portrayl of the 16th Century of the conquisitors obsession into madness while searching for the city of gold! Talking about pushing the envelope! Anybody familiar with director Werner Herzog should know that he loves 'realism' and will do anything even if it means putting his actors in the most harshest and unsafe conditions! While I was watching this film, one would wonder if the Klaus Kinski performance in this film is really acting or is it a response to these harsh conditions he had to endure to succumb to Herzog's craft of movie making !
4 out of 4.
