Review of Aguirre, the Wrath of God (1972) by Alex D — 02 Dec 2012

Many people look at movies as just a source of entertainment, but what many forget is just how difficult it is to make these movies. Now sometimes liking a movie does not consist of enjoying the narrative but respecting it for the piece of artistic work that it is.

For me Aguirre was that type of movie. One that I found myself at once not really entertained by story but enthralled by this amazing technical work. The sound is not its strong suit but its visuals and locations for shooting the visuals were mind blowing.

Besides the technical achievement it is well acted by Kinski who really seems to dive into his role.
