Review of Aguirre, the Wrath of God (1972) by Simon D — 11 May 2014
Another Herzog film that isn't that weird, I'm beginning to wonder if I've just been lucky with the first few of his that I saw. Having said that, Klaus Kinski is totally weird. I can't say I warmed to him and am not looking forward to having to watch more of him as I make my way through Herzogs filmography.
I thought that this was going to turn into a horror when canibals made an appearance but it didn't. I don't know if that's a good thing or not. I suppose the story was alright although not that exciting.
I have to say, I'm not quite sure how this gets onto all the lists of greatest films.
