Review of Agora (2009) by Kalin G — 02 Oct 2010
Agora tells the story of the clash between fanatic (fundamendalist, or rather militant) religion following and the free-spirit quest for knowledge and mutual understanding. Alexandria is the ultimate place where ancient moral code and beliefs give place to novel cults and social order.
Directed and edited beautifully, the movie is also a great experience into the end of an era. After watching it, I thought: nothing has changed dramatically for the last 2000 years. Poor Christians, Jews and Muslims.
If only they knew.
